Casino Night at the Ranch

You know everyone had a great time by the periodic cheers that went up from the various tables of blackjack, craps, roulette and poker. This was the scene at Casino Night, brought to the residents of the Ranch on Saturday, March 14, by the Robson Ranch Social Committee. Everyone was greeted at the door with a program and an opportunity to buy raffle tickets for 25 great prizes ranging from two tickets to the Holiday Gala to a bottle of champagne. Then they browsed and bid on the 40 items in the silent auction, everything from dinners at Classic Café or several other restaurants, cosmetics, concealed gun license training, baskets of booze, theater tickets, hair styling and many more.

Then the doors opened to the casino where each ticket was exchanged for $1,000 in chips, and guests found their favorite game of chance. The games were staffed with professional dealers who would help the novices with strategy and rules. The guests just went to work winning as many chips as they could so they would win one of the 25 prizes given to the top performers.

The ballroom was decorated with a St. Patrick’s Day theme so everybody could try the “luck of the Irish.” It worked for quite a few people. The dining room staff had the bars well stocked and even provided a rolling bar, which circulated among the patrons so they didn’t have to get up to get a drink. Everyone seemed to have a great time, and as several people said, “This is the best party the committee puts on.” You can view multiple pictures on channel 21 and view a few with this article.

Thank you all for coming and please remember to support all our generous donors who were listed in the Casino program. These businesses that help support our activities will be honored in an ad in the December Pioneer Press.

The purpose of the Social Committee is to plan major parties and other social events for RR homeowners. It began in 2000 before there was a clubhouse, and most events were held in the sales office building. All residents are considered members, and there are no dues. Just come and enjoy the parties we put on. The next one is a pool party on Saturday, June 13, at the outdoor pool. Then comes the Holiday Gala at the Texas Motor Speedway in the ninth floor ballroom with a great view all the way back to the Ranch. We can accommodate up to 400 guests for this opulent event. Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 12.
