On Saturday, March 10 the Robson Ranch Corks n’ Caps (wine and beer) Club met at Ralph and Carol O’Jankowski’s home for an Irish-inspired event. The club guests brought a ‘green’ labeled wine to compete in a tasting challenge and an Irish or green appetizer or dessert to round out the night!
When guests arrived, they were donned with a clover necklace and offered a sampling of mead, a delicious Irish honey wine. Ralph O’Jankowski shared that in Celtic cultures, mead wine was believed to enhance virility and fertility and as a result, found its way into Irish wedding ceremonies.
The club voted for the best tasting wine at the end of the night and it was a tie with Susan and Dave O’Parker and Susan O’Herbert taking home consolation prizes! But everyone was a winner that night as they enjoyed the bounty of delicious appetizers, tasty wines, friendship and great weather on the O’Jankowski’s patio by the fire.
