Dance Club’s “A Night on the Red Carpet”

Dance Club Board rolling out the red carpet for a night of dancing.

Lights! Camera! Dance! We heeded the call of the cinema at the year’s premiere party and got the VIP celebrity treatment at the Dance Club’s “A Night on the Red Carpet”. As they say, there’s no business like show business and with the Tinseltown theme, everyone felt they were on their way to receiving that much-coveted Academy Award!

In true Hollywood style, the ballroom was decorated in the colors of red, black and gold and bedazzled with film reals, director’s clapboards and Oscar statuettes. At the photo spot, we stepped onto the red carpet ready to face the flashing cameras of the waiting paparazzi. We danced the night away to live music from Flashback Entertainment playing favorites from country to swing, waltzes, rock n’ roll and pop.

And, of course, there were those great door prizes generously donated by our wonderful sponsors Nothing Bundt Cakes, Henry Evans (dance instructor), Denton Movie Tavern and Farmhouse Coffee and Treasures. The winners were John Rutan, Jere Bone, Roger Amador, Sylvia Mawhee, Sam Haas and John Jamison.

It was a night filled with glamour and glitz. But the dancing doesn’t just stop; remember to mark your calendar for the next dance, “Viva la Fiesta – Cinco de Mayo” set for May 4 with live music from Freddie and the Falcons.
