There were a lot of smiling faces at the February meeting of Support Our Troops as the Featherheads made one of their largest single donations in history to the charity. SOT president Chuck Runner received the $1,726 donation from Featherhead spokesman Doyle Hicks who was accompanied by a dozen of his fellow Featherheads. The Featherheads is an informal group of Robson Ranch golfers who play on a regular basis and ask for voluntary contributions for the SOT charity for every birdie and eagle made when they play. In 2015 Featherhead donations to the SOT charity totaled more than $5,000.

As with every donated SOT dollar, the Featherhead donation will be divided up so that 60 percent goes to support for the relatives of Robson Ranch military and their assigned units, and the remaining 40 percent will be donated to other worthy military charities such as Patriot Paws, Fisher House, Train a Dog/Save a Warrior and Center for the Intrepid. Unlike other military charities the Robson Ranch SOT group is staffed completely by unpaid volunteers, which allows us to make the pledge that every donated dollar goes to the troops.
