From the new Denton County Commissioner

Dianne Edmondson, Denton County Commissioner, Pct. 4

Hello, Robson Ranch! Welcome to my inaugural column in the Pioneer Press as your new Denton County Commissioner! And again, thank you for your strong support in my election.

As you read this, the wheels of my first tenure as your Precinct 4 County Commissioner will already be rolling down miles of roads throughout western Denton County. I am actively involved in monitoring the progress on Crawford Road and hopefully, helping to speed it along, as many of you have requested.

But there are other road issues as well. From every pothole to each crack in the asphalt surface, it is imperative that you know we are thinking about you. We want you to feel free to reach out, whenever, however.

Communication is a two-way street. Your voice is important to me. All it takes is an email to [email protected]. In turn, I promise to keep you informed about road projects and other county-related matters through email blasts, newsletters, columns and even on social media.

Precinct 4 represents 18 different communities with most experiencing tremendous growth recently, now or on the horizon. This growth brings more industry, more retail and more homes, which equates to more traffic.

With 2019 now here and 2020 just around the corner, there’s much to do. Our fast-paced growth is bringing new issues to the forefront. While some welcome the growth, others prefer slow growth or, in some cases, little to no growth. One community might prefer additional residential development while another seeks commercial expansion to diversify the tax base or bring more job opportunities. Every community has different challenges, different goals; each as important as the other. That is what makes this precinct and its challenges so unique.

Certainly, we here in Robson Ranch have our own goals and challenges. As your representative on Commissioners Court, I look forward to your input in planning future projects for our area of Denton County. Together, we can tackle any issue and create solutions that best serve you.

After all, that is my job, to serve you.

It is such an honor to be your Precinct 4 County Commissioner, an honor taken very seriously. I am excited for this opportunity to work for and with you in the years to come.
