Missed Fortune Murder Mystery was held Saturday, June 27, with 60 attendees. Lagniappe Productions came with five actors in 1880s attire. Several residents wore their western wear, which fit in perfectly with the Texas play theme.

The evening started off with a cash bar; a very tasty buffet opened at 6:00 P.M. with BBQ sausage, vegetables, potatoes and pineapple upside down cake. Chef Aubrey and the grill staff did an excellent job from the tasty food to serving that favorite cocktail to clearing the tables.

The actors mingled around the tables during dinner, and once the dishes were cleared the show began. There was lots of laughter and audience participation. Clarice Green flirted and tangled with Tatyana a few times. Dusty Muddwater was working a mine for Banker Greedy Granbury Green, but he repossessed the mine for non-payment. Mortimer Morton was always lurking around the room sizing people up for caskets. Tatyana was the best crystal ball reader any of the audience had ever seen; however, her crystal ball was really a snow globe. Marshall Courtright was busy trying to keep everybody under control and was hot on the trail of the killer.

After the second act the actors went to each table, and audience members could interrogate them with only one question in hopes to find who killed Granbury Green. Was it the banker’s wife, Clarice; Tatyana the fortune teller mistress; Dusty Muddwater that lost the mine; or Mortimer Morton that continued looking for funeral business?

The results of the evening proved there are a lot of smart people at Robson Ranch as three teams had the correct answer. Marshall Courtright decided the most scientific way to find the winning team was to put all the tying ballots in a hat and then had an audience member pull the winning ballot. The hoops, howlers and applauds were almost deafening! To stay with the Texas theme, each member of the Jolly Ranchers winning team received a gift card to Texas Roadhouse.

The winning team members were as follows: Margaret Crouch, Chris Rosprim, Doug and Shirley Hughes, Danny McDaniel and guest, Richard and Julianne Remski.

The HOA is looking forward to bringing Lagniappe Productions back to the Ranch in 2016. Watch your emails and Pioneer Press for the date.
