On a bright and breezy Sept. 11, the Robson Ranch Women’s Golf Association hosted the 2019 Hoofs and Heels Tournament. One hundred twenty-four women from around the north Texas metroplex and a friend from California participated in teams in the combination scramble, alternate shot, and best ball. The event was preceded by a social the prior day at the home of Kay and David McKie. The entire Robson Ranch Women’s Golf Association (RRWGA) organization would like to express thanks to the Hoofs and Heels Committee of Angie Gay, Sue Halsted, Kay McKie, Judy Markley, Maureen Fitzgerald, and Cindy Sterling.
Prizes for the tournament were awarded for first, second, and third place in each of five flights. In addition, prizes were awarded for closest to the line and closest to the pin. Winners were as follows.
Flight 1: 1st, Gale Hicks and Joanne Normandin; 2nd, Cindy Sterling and Barb Schmidt; 3rd, OkCha Cummings and Terry Kay.
Flight 2: 1st, Lee Murphy and Ann Farkas; 2nd, Paula Bone and Debbie Ahlgren; 3rd, Jeannie Martinez and Gwen Graham.
Flight 3: 1st, Malinda Hall and Sue Galinski; 2nd, Sharon Valentine and Kristen Howard; 3rd, Kay McKie and Kathryn Schuetts.
Flight 4: 1st, Paula Myers and Maria Baker; 2nd, Lavelle Carlson and Judith Sprehe; 3rd, Linda Phillips and Jenny Blackwood.
Flight 5: 1st, Marianne Diliberto and Cheryl McCally; 2nd, Donna Slater and Sue Frisby; 3rd, Debbie Reed and Diane Dunn.

Jeremy Trietsch and Chef Aubrey provided a wonderful luncheon at the Robson Ranch Clubhouse following the tournament. Menu items included Asian chicken salad, turkey pinwheels, orzo salad, tomato basil soup, and macerated berries. Donations to the Child’s Advocacy Center of Denton County and Support Our Troops were made from the proceeds of the tournament. Participants were entertained by the Pro Shop’s Dan Mauer singing a golf inspired version of 16 Tons. The luncheon closed with a birdie juice toast to good things in the coming year.
