Inaugural Howl-O-WeenPet Costume Competition

The warmer breezes and pleasant sun almost dried up the remainder of previous rain, for the first annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Competition. The Women’s Club and Happy Tails Club sponsored this event for fun and delight of Robson residents.

About 35 dogs competed, many in costume with their owners. Bob Zimmerman emceed the event, and a four-person panel of judges carefully evaluated entrants. Pets walked up a ramp to an elevated platform and posed with their canine best effort. Entrants Awards were given for Funniest, Scariest, Most Original and Most Embarrassed costume.

Petco gave prizes for the first place winners and ribbons for second and third, as well as treats for all dogs. The music was by Robson’s Bert Zeitlin and the Wildhorse Grill offered refreshments.

Though all entrants were canines, who knows what the next competition might bring?
