The Visual Arts Society of Texas, Denton Chapter, 26th annual Members Exhibition ran from August 12 through 22. The exhibition is juried, and prizes totaling $2,650 in cash and merchandise were awarded. Sixty-six members entered at least one work of art each.
This year Denton Mayor Chris Watts judged the Pride of Denton award and chose a sculpture by Happy Potters member Judie Smothers. Watts said the piece represents the diversity of Denton’s population.
Judie is well known in the club for her creativity and meticulous craftsmanship and is an inspiration to our members. Congratulations, Judie!
