Lady Niners Golf Club donates to Hearts for Homes

The Wildhorse Lady Niners chose Hearts for Homes as their 2018 holiday charity. Hearts for Homes is a nonprofit outreach that helps provide low-income seniors with safe, comfortable and well-functioning homes through home rehabilitation. The Lady Niners chose to help with their Christmas project to fill two large laundry baskets with nonperishable food items and durable goods for 80+ seniors.

Susan Frank, Director of Denton Hearts for Homes, called the contributions from the Lady Niners “amazing” and “their generosity humbling”. Through donations from just their 128 members, the Lady Niners contributed more than 450 food items, 2,200 napkins, 90 rolls of toilet paper, 55 rolls of paper towels, 625 paper plates, 200 personal hygiene items, more cleaning and nonperishable items and money.

The Wildhorse Lady Niners is open to all residents who want to play nine holes of golf and continue to learn or re-learn the rules and etiquette of the game by participating in team play, individual play and tournaments. The organization plays March–November, but enjoys social events year-round.
