A groundbreaking ceremony was held April 1, 2017 on a new fire station that will serve the Robson Ranch Texas community.

Fire Station No. 514 will be located at the corner of Old Justin Road and Cleveland-Gibbs Road, in the Harvest subdivision near I-35W and FM 407. The new station will serve the southwestern portion of the city of Denton, Argyle and Northlake and will be run by the Argyle Fire District via an interlocal cooperation agreement with the city of Denton.

“We are excited about having a new station within such close proximity to Robson Ranch,” said Brian Boylan, Senior VP of Sales, Robson Ranch Texas. “The new station should help greatly with much faster response times in emergency situations.”

“The 10,000 sq. ft. station will sit on approximately three acres and have three apparatus bays to house additional equipment,” said Kenneth Hedges, Assistant Fire Chief for the Denton Fire Department. “Argyle is staffing a structural engine with two of the three personnel trained as paramedics and carrying advanced life support equipment. Denton Fire will respond with a Mobile Intensive Care Unit (ambulance) staffed with two paramedics to the Robson Ranch community.”

Robson Ranch residents were instrumental in this project, creating an Ambulance/Fire Task Force in 2014 and working closely with the city of Denton. The collaborative effort between the city and fire district accelerated plans by 10 years to construct the station.

“When the station officially opens, residents in Robson will have emergency services located within one mile of the development, decreasing current response times significantly and allowing first responders to intervene and mitigate emergencies in more expeditious manner,” said Hedges.

The new station is scheduled to open October 2018.
