Pickleball Club hosts Dinkfest event

Susan Parker

Dinkfest was a wonderful time for all who attended last month, about 100 people.

Games and prizes as well as food, fun and great fellowship was had by all. Some said, “When and what is the next club event?” Watch for future notices to find out.

Our court construction is moving at a rapid pace. The construction supervisors and court builders are hoping to complete the work by the end of January. WOW! The slabs are to be done the week after Thanksgiving. Once they are poured they have to cure for a time period. The work will begin on the stadium court next, and after that our four courts will be resurfaced. We will have to move to the other stadium courts at that time. Eventually we will have the eight courts that are sunken first before all courts are completed. What an exciting time it is to be at the Ranch. See you on the courts.

Our club hosted the District Ambassador’s meeting over the weekend at the Grill and on the courts. There were 20 area ambassadors in attendance. Ellen Gilgore spoke regarding the Argyle Intermediate Pickleball Program and about our club. Ford Roberson talked about the USAPA referee certification process, IPTPA certified instructors program and SSIPA (Super Senior International Pickleball Association). The meeting was attended by Tom Burkhart, the Region’s (six states) USAPA director.
