Republican Club to host Candidate Forum February 7

Rebecca Bafford

The Republican Club is excited to host a Candidate Forum for five contested offices that will be on the March 2018 Republican primary ballot. The forum will be held during the regular monthly club meeting on Wednesday, February 7, in the main auditorium of the Clubhouse. There will be a social time beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by the regular meeting.

Expected to participate in this forum are the following candidates:

U.S. Congressional District 26 incumbent, Representative Michael Burgess, and challenger, Veronica Birkenstock

Texas House of Representatives District 64 incumbent, Dr. Lynn Stucky, and challenger, Mark Roy

Denton County District Attorney incumbent, Paul Johnson, and challenger, Brent Bowen

County Commissioner Precinct 4: Open seat, four candidates: Jim Carter, Dianne Edmondson, Itamar Gelbman and Brenda Latham

District Clerk: Open seat, four candidates: Ronnie Anderson, William Brown, David Trantham and Mark Yarbrough

Robson Ranch is in Precinct 4003, which produced more votes than any other Denton County precinct in 2016. Other precincts have more registered voters, but no precinct casts more votes! This extremely important Candidate Forum will help inform voters of the views held by each candidate on the pertinent issues facing everyone. We invite any Robson Ranch residents interested in learning more about how the candidates feel about the issues to attend this forum before voting in the March primary.
