Road Runners expand travel possibilities at 2016 annual meeting

Cruises, wineries, national parks, international cultures, museums, concerts, Broadway productions and more. That’s what you’ll experience on Road Runners sponsored day excursions or multi-day trips. With over 200 in attendance at the Road Runners May 11 annual meeting, 14 exciting adventures were introduced through the club’s travel partners Brandt Travel and Gotta Go Tours by Patti.

Special presentations given by Mayflower, Uncommon Journeys and Celebrity Cruise Line highlighted several upcoming travel adventures. This was followed by a social cocktail hour offering a lavish layout of delicacies prepared by our own Robson Ranch Grill staff. Road Runners feasted on traditional bruschetta on baguette, fruit skewers of melon, pineapple and grape, charcuterie platter piled high with gourmet cheeses and meats and cupcakes flavored with mocha with chocolate chip cream and lemon and raspberry cream.

Then it was onto the club’s business, approving the 2015 annual meeting minutes, reciting the membership stats, reporting the club’s financial status, approving the 2016 by-laws and electing officers. By proclamation the slate of officers was unanimously voted in. Peggy Crandell Duff, Gayle Coe, Pat Thompson, Vicki Baker, Susan Hebert, Bert Zeitlin, Jan Wallace, Phyllis Ayers, Dave Parker, Joyce Frey and Edward Barnett will serve the club in the upcoming year.

During the meeting over $1,700 in door prizes were awarded ranging from gift cards to restaurants and other merchants to travel-related gift baskets to bottles of wine to discounts on future travel. Special thanks was extended to those members who enthusiastically filled the bucket with suggestions for future trips.

So now that the “business” is done for yet another year, it’s time to mark your calendars for fun-filled trips with your fellow Robson Ranchers. Learn more about fabulous travel opportunities by visiting the Road Runners website at www.rrrrclub.com.
