Robson Chorale to hold Director’s Choice Concert

Karen Synnett

Join us as we celebrate Dr. Thomas Miyake’s final concert.

The Robson Chorale’s Director’s Choice concert is Sunday, May 6 at 4:00 p.m. in the Clubhouse. We will perform some of Dr. Miyake’s favorites including compositions by Bach, Beethoven, Gilbert and Sullivan, and Offenbach. Dr. Miyake was Director of Choral Studies at California State University, Los Angeles and taught at the University of Arkansas and Overland and Cherry Creek High Schools in Denver. It was his love of music that inspired him to create an ensemble of singers interested in a musical challenge here at Robson Ranch.

Be sure to arrive early in order to hear a pre-concert performance by the Robson Chamber Ensemble led by Bruce Chidester. Mr. Chidester was a member of the faculty at the University of Northern Iowa, School of Music in Cedar Falls from 1969 until his retirement in 1999. After moving to Branson, Missouri he performed with the Lawrence Welk Orchestra, the Les Brown Orchestra and the Bobby Vinton Orchestra.

Tickets can be purchased starting April 23 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m.-noon at the clubhouse. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

The Robson Chorale rehearses Sundays at 5:30 p.m. in the clubhouse. While we work hard, we have great fun! Stop in and check us out or contact director Tom Miyake at 940-262-3525.
