Robson Mentors honored by Denton Schools

Dave Parker

At the conclusion of the school year the Robson Ranch mentors received many honors and thanks from the Denton School District and schools. Dick Anderson who heads up the school mentors received a special recognition at the Evers Park appreciation breakfast. Dick was honored for all his work over many years to grow and develop the mentors from Robson Ranch at Evers Park Elementary. The Communities in Schools of North Texas also held an appreciation lunch at the Circle R Ranch in Flower Mound for 350 mentors and volunteers in the Denton School district. A delicious menu of Texas brisket, coleslaw, beans and buns was served to a hungry audience. Some of the mentors also attended an appreciation breakfast at Evers Park Elementary. The breakfast was catered by Panera, and Robson mentors and other mentors and volunteers were treated to a program by students and appreciation speeches from the Evers Park principal and the Denton Superintendent of Schools. It was a great way to end the year for Robson mentors.

Mentors can volunteer on Wednesdays at Evers Park Elementary and on Thursdays at Borman Elementary. A school bus picks up mentors at Robson Ranch at 9:30 a.m., and we are driven back by approximately 11:20 a.m. If you would like to volunteer for the next school year, please email Dick Anderson at [email protected]. We have the need for more volunteers, and there is room on the bus for you! Make a difference in a child’s life with less than two hours a week!
