Robson Ranch mentors make a difference

Borman Elementary Mentors’ Christmas Party for their children.

If you are looking to make a difference in a young person’s life, the Robson Ranch mentors is the group for you. There are two groups: one mentors at Borman Elementary on Thursdays and the other mentors at Evers Elementary on Wednesdays. A school bus picks you up at the Grill parking lot and drives all mentors to their schools. On the few days when a bus does not pick up, a car pool is used. We leave Robson at 9:30 a.m. and return by 11:30 a.m. Mentors are paired with a first or second grader for about 45 minutes once a week. Most mentors do not have a teaching background. It is hard to describe the fulfillment of helping a child one-on-one and making a difference. Borman Elementary, for example, has 70% of its students “at risk.” There is a tremendous need for volunteers, and Robson Ranch is making a difference with only an investment of two hours a week. If you would like to volunteer, please email Dick Anderson at [email protected]. We have the need for more volunteers, and there is room on the bus for you!
