RRSA prepares for spring season

In Memory of Nick Barbati who played for the White Sox from the fall of 2013 to the spring of 2014.

Rebecca Cole

The Robson Ranch Softball Association (RRSA) has been preparing for the 2015 spring season. Coordinating meetings for registration, training umpires, scheduling field work day, getting signs ready to hang on the fence for our sponsors and completing the draft has been a challenge for all involved.

Registration began on February 2; new players were evaluated, and the draft for all teams completed. The draft helped the teams be evenly matched to provide a competitive season within the league. The first game will be played on March 30. The schedules are posted on www.quickscores.com. Don’t forget the fun night games every Wednesday beginning April 1. As soon as the weather permits, the Saturday morning pickup games will start at 8:00 a.m. Please come out and support your friends and neighbors at the Field of Dreams in Robson Ranch.

The RRSA would like to thank Brandy Wismer for assisting members with yoga classes once a week during the month of February. She has seen injuries in the past such as pulled hamstrings, calf muscles, shoulder and elbow strains. Taking a few minutes each day to keep these muscles stretched out will help prevent these types of injuries. Thank you for your instructions and hope everyone will continue to stretch.

As a reminder, during the construction around the softball field there will be no access to the field from Robson Ranch Road. A graveled road from Lindenwood Trail will be the only way to the new parking lot located by the gas well and behind left field. A graveled walkway runs from the parking lot to the field.

Let the 2015 season begin!
