After Schoolers celebrate “Subway Day” at adopted schools

Darla Chupp

The After Schoolers Club treated the faculty and staff members of the club’s two adopted schools in Denton I.S.D., Borman Elementary School and LaGrone Advanced Technology Complex, to “Subway Day.” Everyone enjoyed the special luncheon, and it was truly a pleasure seeing the happy faces of the teachers and staff members who were eagerly anticipating the luncheon.

If you would like to share in the fun, festive events and service to these dedicated professionals, we issue an invitation for you to join us! Throughout the year the After Schoolers Club is busy planning and organizing the semi-annual community garage sales, celebratory events for our schools, and the annual Christmas Food Basket Drive for needy families within our schools.

Look for our collection boxes in the Sports Club and the CATC. It is our goal to help the neediest families at our two schools have a Merry Christmas. The baskets will include non-perishable food items, beautifully handcrafted Christmas stockings courtesy of the Robson Ranch Material Girls, warm hand-knitted scarves courtesy of Marge Lane and Bonnie Thomas, stuffed animals for the elementary students and fuzzy, fleece blankets for the older students. Thank you, everyone, for your dedication to this project. If you would like more information regarding these projects, call Darla Chupp at 940-262-1022 or Gayle England at 940-262-3234.
