The Robson Ranch After Schoolers Club recently celebrated and honored the hard-working, dedicated teachers in our two “adopted” schools in the Denton Independent School District. The After Schoolers honored the teachers and staff members at Borman Elementary School and Gonzalez School for Young Children with a Pizza and Cupcake Party. Both school faculties were extremely grateful for the special treats!

Teacher Appreciation Week is a national event started in 1984 and is a week-long celebration in recognition of teachers and the contributions they make to education specifically and to our society in general. The week is a special time to honor the men and women who lend their passions and skills to educating our children and grandchildren. The designated week provides an opportunity for students, their parents and family members, along with school personnel and local communities to show their appreciation to the teachers for the hard work, long hours and commitment to education and their students.

There are also many national retailers including merchants and restaurants joining in the celebration and recognition of the importance of those involved in the educational community. Some of these are Banana Republic, Barnes & Noble, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Einstein Bros. Bakery, J. Crew, Jo-Ann Fabrics, McDonald’s, Michael’s and Staples.

Have you said, “Thank You!” or “We appreciate you!” to a teacher lately? If not, do it! It will mean so much these dedicated professionals.

The next After Schoolers meeting is September 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Medina Room. Please join us for the “kick off” meeting in September and an exciting new school year. For more information about the After Schoolers, please call Darla Chupp at 262-1022 or Gayle England at 262-3234.
