Softball Season closes with a tourney and picnic

Another season of softball at the Field of Dreams concluded with a single elimination tournament on the October 25 weekend. Many RR softball fans and their families joined in the cheers for the intense competition of all the teams involved. Great ball was played by every team, making the tournament one of much excitement to the very end. Sunday, the Coyotes, managed by Dennis Thomas, finished off the tournament with a nail-bitter game against the Red Hots, managed by Dave McKie, winning 15-14!

The RR Softball Board and their volunteers prepared an end-of-the-year finale on Saturday for the league members and RR homeowners with a picnic at the field between games during the tournament. Hot dogs, brats, chips, cookies, soda and ice cream bars were enjoyed by all on a beautiful day. Every attendee registered for the free raffle with names drawn at every inning and half inning for a gift card. Of course, peanuts were tossed to those in the stands during the games.

The fall season No. 1 team with a 5-1 record was the Cowboys, managed by Mike and Lori Slocum. Congratulations to the Coyotes and the Cowboys for a great season end and to the Blue Sox, White Sox, Red Hots, Yellow Jackets and Black Hawks for making the competition fierce and fun! Many enjoyed the more relaxed Thursday Fun Nights during the season.

Our fall 2014 season may be over, but plans for the spring 2015 season will begin shortly with a new board. Hope many of you wishing to re-live your youth will consider joining the RR Softball League. Stay in touch with the league at  www.quickscores.com/robsonranch.
