Each year on November 11, Veterans Day, a grateful nation honors its veterans and remembers those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Here in Robson Ranch we also recognize and thank those who are currently serving in our armed forces.

As a Robson Ranch resident, if you have a relative serving in any branch of the United States military or are currently serving yourself, we need you and you need us!

We are the Support Our Troops organization with more than 200 current Robson Ranch members, and our mission is to encourage and support brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren and other relatives of Robson Ranch residents. Currently SOT supports 82 service men and women (12 deployed and 70 non-deployed) in places including Afghanistan, Kuwait, Germany, Italy, Korea, Iraq, Australia and Safe Waters.

New officers and Board of Directors members were elected at the October 16 meeting. Robson residents elected were Susan Galbraith, president of SOT; Darin Burk, first vice president, and Bill Moore, second vice president. John Chorba, Donna Chabot, Nancy Tong and Guy Meyers were elected to positions on the board of directors.

As the new president, Susan planned another outstanding Veterans Day celebration for the Veterans Park area between the Grill and the Clubhouse at 8:45 a.m. on November 11. Following that memorial service, which included words from our State Representative Dr. Lynn Stucky, the SOT legendary silent auction was held, complemented by the Robson Ranch Choir Patriotic concert. It was a heart-warming event at which there were no knees taken during the National Anthem!

Support Our Troops is a 501(c)(3) charity, and our dues are $10 annually. We meet on the second Monday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in the Lone Star Room at the Clubhouse. Please join us at our meetings, and if you have a relative serving in any branch of the Armed Services please let us know so that we can help support him or her. For more information about what support SOT offers, please go to our website www.supportourtroopstexas.com or contact SOT president, Susan Galbraith at 940-262-0600.
