Support Our Troops Veteran’s Day Virtual Auction

Lynne Moore

We certainly missed our usual very busy and fun July 4th parade, but we were glad to see Support Our Troops (SOT) had put up the traditional flags to honor the day. There also were facemask-wearing marchers from Voices United, as well as a beautiful parade of classic cars driven by our Robson residents. Several folks decorated their golf carts to celebrate. The fly-over later in the day was a highlight also,

As you know, due to the pandemic, SOT will not have its live auction on Veterans Day. Instead, we will have a virtual auction where you can look at and bid on those items that have been collected by our members. In mid-October, the items and services will be displayed for “window shopping” on the Support Our Troops website at supportourtroopstexas.com. On Veterans Day, November 11, bidders will be able to begin actual bidding. Save the date on your calendar now! One hundred percent of the proceeds go to support our men and women in the military. If you are interested in donating items or services, just go to the auction page of the SOT website and download the “2020 Donor Guide” PDF. The donation window for all donated items closes on September 1.  Many thanks to all those who have donated items for the auction. We appreciate your generosity.

In May, we once again started shipping boxes to our deployed military men and women. We also have continued to send cards every month to those military who are relatives of Robson Ranch residents. These beautiful cards made by our Sassy Stampers contain hand-written messages from our SOT members. If you have a relative in the military and would like them to be recognized by SOT, just check our website to see the person to contact.

If you wish to purchase a brick to honor a veteran on Veterans Day, the last day to do that is September 25. You can contact Darin Burk at 309-530-0124, and he will take your order.  American flags can be purchased also from Quinn Sowell at 940-262-1106.

To all of those who work so hard to support our men and women in the military, we thank you. Robson Ranch has always been so caring and generous that it certainly makes us truly proud.
