Table Tennis begins classes

Tom Taylor, a certified table tennis coach from Farmers Branch, is conducting a class covering the basic strokes and footwork for playing Table Tennis. This class is for beginner and mid-level players and is free for all members of the Robson Ranch Table Tennis Club. The class sessions are being held on Mondays from noon until 1:30 p.m. for eight weeks starting on March 12, 2018. The following describes Tom’s weekly session topics.

Week 1 and 2: Overview of the benefits of learning table tennis, Tom’s methods of learning and how to get rid of old habits. We will start with the forehand and backhand stroke.

Week 3 and 4: Push, chops, blocks, loops, and footwork. How to workout away from the table.

Week 5 and 6: Serving and return of serves. When do you focus. Multi-ball workouts.

Week 7 and 8: Doubles. Footwork, strategies and overcoming weaknesses.

2018 is a great year to become a Robson Ranch Table Tennis Club member and take advantage of activities that the club sponsors, especially future classes. Table Tennis can be a key activity in your mental and physical healthy lifestyle and well-being.

Please stop by and say hello to the Table Tennis gang during one of our Table Tennis play times Monday, Wednesday and Friday at noon to 2:30 p.m. and on Sunday 10:00 a.m. to noon. Our members are always ready to lend a hand, helping new interested participants improve their table tennis game and become active players in our weekly table  tennis sessions.
