On Saturday, March 19, the Tennis Club and USTA hosted the first event for 2016 titled “Spring Training.” Over 30 players participated, from beginners to seasoned veterans, and all were introduced to a great new “warm up” and beginners’ drill using a bigger, softer ball on smaller courts. A great way to learn the game and develop the skills needed to improve! For the more advanced players we had competition in the form of a “King/Queen of the Court, and our big winners were Eddie Salvo and Patrice Forsyth.

If you haven’t already, don’t forget to join the club and pay your annual dues of 10 bucks! A bargain!

The Tennis Club will be hosting a series of themed mixers throughout the year starting with the Spring Mixer on April 9 and Cinco de Mayo on May 7. Members can RSVP now for the Spring Mixer on MyGrove.

Don’t forget our ongoing drop-in tennis. The format is designed to get the most fun in with no pressure. Open to all skill levels, we do a four game rotation, one game in each of the four stations. They are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:30 a.m. to noon and Thursday, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for double and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for singles. Come and go as you please!
