Wildhorse Lady Niners supports Justin Clothes Closet

Janie Farnsworth

On Wednesday, July 29, at 4:30 p.m. the Wildhorse Lady Niners played a scramble to celebrate the USGA Play 9 Day. We had 24 participants on a really hot day. A $5 entry fee was charged that went to the Justin Clothes Closet. Another $5 bought a raffle ticket for a beautiful golf bag, which was won by Moe Fitzgerald. Additional purchases were made for Mulligans where the funds also went to the Justin Clothes Closet.

The WLN supplied water for the players, which was very much appreciated. First place was taken by Cel Muff, LaDonna Womochel and Susan Miloser. Second place was Carolyn Thomas, Angie Gay, Sue Halsted and Brenda Alford who also won the Longest Drive on no. 15. The closest to the pin was Janie Cindric on hole no. 14.

The Justin Clothes Closet was represented by Kim Wallace, Gwen St. Clair and our own Carol Solow. The WLN president, Virginia Wheeless, handed a check to these ladies in the amount of $870. The Justin Clothes Closet relies on donated funds to pay their rent and utilities for their warehouse, which opens to the public on specific days. A family is allowed to pick 10 items per person of apparel. This makes a big impact on lower income families, especially at this time of year.

The Wildhorse Lady Niners has a membership of 114. We stress golf in an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie. If you would like more information, please contact our membership chair, Olive Morton, at  262-0828.
