Birding Interest Group news

John Kirk

The birding interest group met at the Ben E Keith building on October 25 for a talk and discussion of feeding birds on the Ranch. Several new members to the group introduced themselves and told about their interest in birds. Most of the 23 Ranchers who attended were feeding birds in their backyards.

s of the birds that will commonly come to feeders on the Ranch. We talked about what feeds each of the birds seem to prefer. New members from out of the area had many questions about what birds can be seen during the year. A listing of birds seen on the Ranch has been developed over the past couple of years, and that was sent after the meeting to all the members. A list of Denton County birding spots was also sent out.

The birding interest group is open to all Robson Ranchers who enjoy birds to include backyard bird feeders and those interested in going on local birding trips. Members of the group usually go out at least once a week on local birding trips, and notice of these trips is sent to everyone on our email list. Anyone interested in joining the email list should send a request to John Kirk at  [email protected].
