Fifth Annual Veterans Day Horseshoe Tournament

All participants

Bob Cook and Deb Harwell

Nothing stops our vets! Rain canceled our tournament on the June 5, and we had sauna-like conditions on June 12.

Bob Edmondson (Korean War, Navy vet) led all 33 people in the Pledge of Allegiance. The field was lined with dozens of beautiful American flags, a multiple service flag, and a bright red Marine flag.

Thanks to Guy Myers of Cool Screens, who sponsored our tournament and provided much needed water and goodies for the observers and participants.

The big winners were:

1st place (gold medal): Steve Ventura (police) and Mike Futscher

2nd place (silver medal): Martha Gill (Army) and Butch Poe

3rd place (bronze medal): Sam Karr (Marine) and Alan Scheigg (Navy)

Handmade prizes (horseshoe grabbers) were made and donated by horseshoe member Larry Daniels.

Horseshoe Club throws on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 9 a.m. All are welcome!
