The Game Gang throws a winning NFL Championship party

Kathy and Ed Heberlien hosted a winning NFL Championship Party for The Game Gang and Friends. Dressed in their favorite team shirts, fans chose their football pool squares and rooted for their favorite team, enjoying game-day party food and drink.

Did you know the terms “Big Game” or “Superb Owl” is often used to describe the championship playoffs due to NFL trademark restrictions?

The Big Game was hosted on February 7, 2016 at 3:25 p.m. in the City of Santa Clara at the state-of-the-art Levi’s Stadium, which is the greenest and most technologically advanced professional football stadium in the United States.

Leading up to Pro Football Championship 50, there was a weeklong series of public events held throughout the region. Events included the NFL Experience and the Game Day Village, featuring activities for all ages that celebrate the game of football, as well as all that the San Francisco Bay Area has to offer from arts and culture to live entertainment and food and drink.

The Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers won their respective conferences to face each other in the final match up, “Championship 50.”

The NFL season ended Sunday night with the Vince Lombardi Trophy in the hands of the Denver Broncos whose top-ranked defense dominated the Carolina Panthers for victory. Denver Broncos’ linebacker, Von Miller, was named the most valuable player, sacking Newton seven times and stealing the ball twice, including the scoop and score by Malik Jackson in the first quarter. There were six combined turnovers in the game, four for Carolina and two for Denver. Even the turnovers almost had turnovers, with fumbles begetting fumbles and sloppy play dominating the game almost as much as Denver’s defense. All the action made for an exciting showdown.

What a great time everyone had conversing, munching and cheering for our favorite team at the Heberlien’s “Big Game, Superb Owl Championship Sunday Playoff Party.
