Robson Ranch Garden Club members enjoyed their annual Christmas lunch at the Grill on Monday, December 21, in The Heritage Room. Santa brought table favors and there was even entertainment! Did you know that there was a “drama group” in the Garden Club? Well maybe not, but a small ensemble participated in a Reader’s Theater: “A Dialogue Between God and St. Francis: Human Behavior Regarding Gardens and Lawns.” The gardeners in attendance completely understood what was being satirized, and there was a lot of laughter. Many thanks to Mary Ann Rich and Carole Johnston for their dramatic reading!

Since the focus of the gathering was fellowship only a few announcements were made, and then the conversation flowed easily while everyone enjoyed their lunch. Two lucky attendees received beautiful poinsettia plants, given in a raffle and donated by the club. Congratulations to Nancy Buenzow and Joan Petre.

Our January meeting will be on Monday, the 18th, at 10:30 a.m. in the Lone Star Room. The program will feature Mr. Beau Propes, Earth Kind Services, who will speak on the benefits of lawn over-topping, which helps warm the soil in the cold weather, cools it in the hot weather, conserves moisture and adds nutrients. As we look forward to getting out into our yards again, this is a very timely program. This meeting is open to all Robson Ranch residents. We hope to see you there!
