The last week of April brought the LPGA Tour to Texas. We had 18 volunteers from the Robson Ranch residents and Oakmont Golf Club that came out to volunteer for the tournament. The team consisted of a couple standard bearers, although most of the volunteers marshaled on Hole 18 for the entire week. The weather was a challenge although many new friendships were made. The Volunteers of America group has requested Team Robson Ranch back for the 2019 tournament and looks forward to many more Robson Ranch residents joining us on Hole 18. Now we are all looking forward to scheduling a day of free golf and Los Colinas Golf Club!

Here is my take on the LPGA week according to Dan Nicolet. What a Sterling (Cindy) week and what a great job this Gal (Sandra) did. I went to bed Sunday evening and rested very well. I woke up and took a Wie (Michelle) and looked in the mirror and said, “So young you” (So Yeon Ryu) put a little Creamer (Paula) in my coffee and had a Pancake (Brooke). I tried to decide to take a walk into the Woods (Cheyenne) or go to the Meadow (Stephanie) or go get a Tan (Kelly) in the Park (Sung Hyun, Jane, Annie, Hee Young, Sadena). So many choices! After my walk I said OH (Su), what a beautiful sister combination with the Kordas (Jessica and Nelly). What a Parra (Maria)! I got on the Webb (Karrie) and tried to find something that made sense with Jutanugarn (Ariya and Moriya), Suwannapura (Thidapa), Srisawang (Nontaya) and my favorite Santiwiwatthanaphong (Sherman). Ha (Jennifer), not possible. I wanted Cristie Kerr to win but “Nomura” (Haru) the Koreans have the Yin (Angel) to get the job done. I’ll always love Gerina Pillar, Stacy Lewis, Julie Inkster and Lexi Thompson and especially all the Robson Ranch volunteers! Let’s do this again!

When I asked Dan if he has learned any golf tips from watching the LPGA golfers and he commented, “Yes, my golf shorts are too long.” So if you see Dan out in shorter shorts you know he is working on his golf game.

Thank you to the Robson Ranch volunteers: Jimmie Burns, Nancy Estes, Bonnie Fickey, Gaylen Fickey, Deb Harwell, Linda Lilley, Dan Nicolet, Jan Norton, Deb Nortunen, Larry Nortunen, Anita Saniino, Linda Scott, Patty Stimson and Cindy Sterling.

Too much fun.
