Linda Lea Grau

Linda Lee Grau of Jamaica Beach, TX passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the University of Texas Medical Center in Galveston, TX of complications from cancer. She was 73 years of age. She will always be remembered for her love of the water, zest for life and incredible kindness that she bestowed upon everyone who knew her. Linda was born in Queens, NY where she met and married Howard Grau in 1964. They moved to Stony Brook shortly thereafter to raise their family and four children. In 1982 the family moved to Coppell, TX. She worked for the city of Coppell eventually holding the Coppell City Secretary position. Linda relocated to Granbury, TX, Satellite Beach, FL, Robson Ranch in Argyle, TX and finally settled in Jamaica Beach, TX to be close to the beach, one of her many passions.

Linda is survived by her children: Wayne Grau of Providence Village, TX, Douglas Grau of Marina Del Rey, CA, Kirk and Missy Grau of Flower Mound, TX and their daughter Reese, and Melissa and Ted Metcalf of Argyle, TX and their two children Lauren and Luke. She also is survived by her brother, Stanley Meuser of Singer Island, FL and her sister, Carol Coon of Barefoot Bay, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Grau who passed away in 2008. Years later she met a fine gentlemen and companion in Tim Belew of Jamaica Beach, TX who shared with her the love of water.

Services were held on June 11, 2016. JE Foust & Son Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Afterwards there was a gathering at her daughter’s home in Argyle, TX for friends and family to attend to celebrate her life as requested by Linda. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to The Cure Starts Now, which is an organization focused on eliminating brain cancer in children.
