Our August Jewish Friendship Group had a very nice turnout. As summer winds down more folks will be around, like me being in Canada for three months. Everyone shared nice foods such as chopped liver, lox, bagels, casseroles and salads. Cheryl and Richard Smith were our hosts.
September hosts are Stan and Joyce Brein and October hosts are Nancy and Dan Zipes.
As a reminder, only one person from a couple needs to be Jewish, and singles are most welcome. We are a social group not a religious group, but we do adhere to our traditions. We ask no dues, just a dish.
Our Jewish holidays are starting on September 13 with Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) and ending with Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement when we ask God to forgive us our sins) on Wednesday, September 23. It is the Jewish New Year 5776. Happy New Year, all.
