Kiwanis Club celebrates the season

Kiwanians enjoying the holiday’s fun, frolic and friendship.

Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of charity and the flames of friendship. Kiwanis Club members and spouses packed the Wildhorse Grill Lounge on December 17 for its annual Christmas Celebration. Dressed in the festive colors of red, green, white and gold, everyone came to share the season with friends, old and new.

Following the welcoming announcements, the club dined on a delicious buffet dinner specially selected by the Wildhorse Grill. Barbara Leurig prepared a luscious treat for dessert – pizzelles (traditional Italian Christmas waffle cookies) topped with vanilla or chocolate ice cream.

The Christmas spirit was ever present throughout the evening with holiday games and lively conversation. Raffle tickets were sold for a chance to win a gift certificate to Crate and Barrel which raised $155 for the club’s charitable fund. Jerry Waynart was the lucky winner.

The annual Christmas Party was a lot of fun and a great time to mix and mingle with club members, all in the spirit of the season, celebrating our successes during the past year and opening our hearts (and wallets) to the many good works of Kiwanis Club RR.
