As the WLN ladies checked in at 7:30 a.m. for their weekly play, the new Director of Golf, Craig Pullen, was there to greet each one. The weather was slightly cooler (only 93!) with a slight breeze and Pro Shop staff came out mid-play and provided cold wet towels to each lady. After golf the ladies continued to cool down with iced tea and a salad, plus a brownie. Pretty sure brownies don’t have cooling abilities, but we all love chocolate!

The general meeting discussion focused on:

New local rule

Provides two club relief from sprinklers that are in the direct line of a putt.

Nominations for officers

The slate of officers for next year is filled: Jane Thompson (President), Deb Andrews, (Vice President), Ana Corey (Treasurer), and Barb Holst (Secretary). Members were encouraged to sign up for committee positions.

Bylaws

One of the revisions originally recommended by the Board was withdrawn by the Board and the membership in attendance agreed that Board officers may be dual members.

Diabetes Charity Tournament

We have over $4000 in sponsorship money and have collected many “mystery gifts” which will be on sale. We need 18 teams of four. Members were encouraged to put their teams together. Tournament information and sign-up sheets were on the tables.

We currently have 141 members with 27 dual members with the WGA. Next year our play day will move to Wednesday and we are hoping some ladies will join us for this additional play opportunity.
