On February 7 the Robson Ranch Republican Club hosted a candidate forum for Republican candidates running for office in five contested races. Those races included US Congress-CD26, Texas House District 64, Denton County Criminal District Attorney, Denton County Commissioner-Precinct 4, and Denton County District Clerk. The format for the forum was to give each candidate time for a brief opening statement, then take written questions from the audience, then provide time for a brief closing statement from each candidate. Club VP Larry Carlson was moderator for the evening.

Congressman Michael Burgess participated by a phone connection from his DC office, and challenger Veronica Birkenstock was present at the forum.

Texas HD64 Representative Lynn Stucky and his challenger Mark Roy were both present.

Incumbent District Attorney Paul Johnson and his challenger Brent Bowen were both present.

Candidates competing for the open seat of Denton County Commissioner-Precinct 4 included Dianne Edmondson, Brenda Latham, Jim Carter, and Itamar Gelbman.

Three candidates competing for the District Clerk position were present including: David Trantham, William Brown, and Ronnie Anderson.

Robson Ranch residents interested in learning more about the Republican Club are invited to attend one of our monthly meetings which are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the clubhouse.
