The night sparkled at Denim and Diamonds dance party

It wouldn’t be Texas at the Ranch without at least one event where you donned your best cowboy boots and jeans along with your bling. There were all kinds of festive sparkly denim combos at the sold out “Denim and Diamonds” dance party hosted by the Robson Ranch Dance Club as the party goers sported their favorite jeans paired with sparkle and shine.

For the casually elegant event, the ballroom was covered in rhinestones and denim with sprinkles of glitter and “diamonds”. New band, Diva G and High Maintenance, was introduced and brought fun and funk to the dance floor. The six-piece band known for their high energy performances played hits from rock and roll to pop, big band, swing and country.

Along with the party, the Dance Club held its annual meeting. The current executive board members will continue to serve in 2019 to fulfill their two-year commitment: Jackie Killingsworth (president), Phyllis Ayers (vice president), Vicki Baker (secretary) and Gloria Baer (treasurer). And to continue all the fun into 2019, the board announced its dances for the upcoming year: A Night on the Red Carpet (February 1), Cinco de Mayo! Viva La Fiesta (May 1), Surf’s Up (July 19) and Dance by the Light of the Moon (September 20).

Much thanks and gratitude were extended to Bert Zeitlin, Marilyn Melo, Geraldine Gawle, Scott Baker and Jerry and April Bayne for their service in making the past year a resounding success. Also, a great big thank you was offered to the many sponsors who provided door prizes throughout the year to all the lucky winners.

Denim and Diamonds brought the Dance Club’s year to a close with a fun-filled night on the town. Now, mark your calendars for the 2019 dances for even more good times ahead. Visit our website at www.rrdanceclub.weebly.com.
