Susan Hebert
The second annual Firecracker 5K Walk/Run was presented on July 4 by the Living Well Committee with Fred Thompson and Fred van Naerssen serving as co-chairpersons of the event. It was a beautiful day with pre-walk/run activities starting at 7:15 a.m. with one of Robson Ranch residents, Sherrill Kerr, singing the National Anthem.
During the event Susan Hebert, Dorothy Hogan and Rick Marsh were on the route to pass out water and to provide assistance as needed. As the walkers and runners entered the final leg of the event, they were welcomed by Fred van Naerssen and Fred Thompson passing out ice cold watermelon donated by Doug’s Country Market.
A special thanks goes out to Sherrill Kerr, Karen McDaniel, Sally Ryerson, Dean French, Donna French, Diane van Naerssen, Helen Hayes, LaDonna Womochel, Jud Sparks, Gary Koenig, Phyllis Formals, Sue Cousins, Tim Battle, Harold Lippold and Mike Kurosaki and his patrol team, who assisted the volunteers in the Walk/Run.
The Living Well Committee would like to thank all the residents of Robson Ranch who participated in the Firecracker Walk/Run. Without you the Firecracker Walk/Run would never have been the success it was.
The committee is now in the planning stages for the Turkey Trot 5K Walk/Run for Thanksgiving.
