The Robson Ranch Garden Club presents 12501 Grosbeak, home of Tammy and Gerald Buck, as the November Yard of the Month. They have lived in Robson Ranch for four years, having moved from Keller. The base landscaping has undergone yearly changes as original plants were replaced with new favorites found by the homeowners. They have chosen wisely, as evidenced by the full beds and variety of plantings. Tammy is particularly pleased with the weeping redbud in the front bed and standard redbuds on each corner. The redbuds were planted at only one inch in diameter. They have pink or white blooms with full abundant green leaves until late fall. The caladiums performed well in the hot August weather. Tammy planted a single, four-inch purslane that has grown to about three feet in diameter and blooms in the daytime. It’s a winner. Purple lantana, coleus, and vinca provide added color and interest. Pansies and ornamental cabbage will replace them soon for winter contrast. Sunshine ligustrum and lemon lime nandinas are thriving as well. Their backyard is focused on a rectangular pool, complete with in-pool lounge chairs—perfect for relaxing on a summer day with views of the golf course and pond.
