Overachievers

Marguerite Rose with mug cozies

Sandi Price

Our regular meeting of the Material Girls is every Thursday at 1 p.m., but we have the room for the whole day. That means whoever wants to sew all day can do so. At a recent meeting, the room was absolutely packed with overachievers, or it might have something to do with the fact that our meetings are now standing-room-only, with 40 to 50 members attending. Obviously, we need a bigger room, but I seriously doubt that will happen in my lifetime. At least I can list the ladies who did show up to sew all day and what they were working on:

Anne Marie Doyen, T-shirt quilt

Kathy Davis, pink baby quilt

Linda Provenzano, purse tissue cases

Mary Hunter, patriotic quilt

Julie Greenwalt, picket fence quilt and mommas quilt

Kathie Wilson, embroidery

Sharon Westbrook, quilt for grandson’s graduation

Laurie Wiginton, paper piecing

Stacye Parry, tumbler block for granddaughter

Debi Davis, potato chip quilt for charity

Lucy Rees, tinsel

Linda Szydlik, wool applique

Vickie Batten, peony quilt

Micki Scalzo, flange binding for baby quilt

Gayle Brothers, Mickey Mouse quilt donation to Denton Quilt Guild

Janice Martin, double slice quilt

If I missed anyone, I apologize. Can you believe the variety of the projects with everyone doing their own thing?

And last but not least is Marguerite Rose who presented mug cozies at the meeting.
