The After Schoolers greeted the teachers and staff of Borman Elementary School and LaGrone Academy with cold drinks and snacks as they prepared their classrooms and lessons for the new school year. Our club’s mission is to provide uplifting support to the teachers and staff at these local schools throughout the school year. It was fun talking with the hard-working teachers, and their appreciation was heartwarming.
For fun and camaraderie, our members go on various outings around the Metroplex. We will be touring the National Cowgirl Museum on Sept. 11, followed by lunch at Blue Bonnet Café in Fort Worth.
Our next After Schoolers meeting is Friday, Sept. 13, at 10:30 a.m. in the clubhouse. We will be making plans for our fall activities and events, including our big Garage Sale, which is Oct. 26, and the Whiskey Bandits Concert, which is Nov. 15.
Please join us! All are welcome. You do not have to be a retired teacher, and we do not work with children.
