Sixty-six participants attended a luncheon, followed by a 16-table duplicate bridge game, on Sept. 30 in the Robson Ranch clubhouse. The activity was attended by members of the Shirley Walker Bridge Club, the Denton Bridge Studio, and the Robson Ranch Duplicate Bridge Club. The luncheon was held to honor the rank achievements of 10 members of the Robson Ranch Duplicate Bridge Club.

The American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) awards masterpoints to the top players in their sanctioned bridge games, and ACBL members strive to achieve various Masterpoint Ranks by their participation in the games. The first milestone achievement is that of Life Master. Six members were celebrated for reaching this goal: Judy Crabtree, Lori McCline, Dolores McCuistian, Laura Pantano, Lori Slocum, and Shooter Summers. Also honored were Tawana Arnett, Judy Crabtree, Consie Javor, Ken Javor, Lori McCline, Alice Wright, and Shooter Summers for reaching the next rank of Bronze Life Master. Bruce Brown was celebrated for attaining one of the highest levels, which is Gold Life Master.

Robson Ranch Duplicate Bridge Club is a relatively small club, and it is a huge accomplishment for this number of members to achieve these awards. Bronia Jenkins, ACBL executive director, was unable to attend, but she sent a special composition that she wrote to honor the celebrants.

Social Chairman and board member Lynda Garrett, in conjunction with Director Tawana Arnett, did an amazing job of arranging a delicious salad lunch, commemorative cake, and beautiful bridge decorations. Other officers in the club are President Bob Stevens and Vice President Laura Patano.

The Robson Ranch Duplicate Bridge Club hosts three weekly ACBL-sanctioned games under the direction of ACBL Director Tawana Arnett. The Monday and Friday games are held at 12:30 p.m., and the Wednesday game, directed by Norris Drum, is at 6:30 p.m. All Robson Ranch bridge players are welcome to join us. No partner? Not a problem. Tawana will work diligently to try to find one for you. For more information, contact Director Tawana Arnett at [email protected].
