From Your City Arts Representative

Francesca Romano and Mike Barrow

Francesca D’Atria Romano

Recently, our Robson Ranch Women’s Club featured Theatre Denton’s Love on Broadway! at its February luncheon. Needless to say, it was a great event to witness the talent that our City of Denton has.

The Campus Theatre has a long history of wonderful performances. When I first arrived here to Denton six years ago, I immediately asked about our local artistic areas, and I soon learned about this enchanting theater. I have to admit, I needed to attend the theater to witness for myself the caliber of talent that compares to my New York City’s productions. I was pleasantly surprised! I was sold on the theater’s ingenuity to create wonderful stage scenes along with great performances at a fraction of the cost of Broadway prices!

Mike Barrow, executive director, plus Pete Kamp, president of the governing board, have done a wonderful job to secure the importance of this historical theater and its performance groups.

The rest of the city’s arts representatives and I know how important it is to continue our support of the arts here in Denton.

If you haven’t already checked out the theater’s upcoming shows, please do so. The theater is planning performances of Jesus Christ Superstar from March 28 through April 13, 2025. Future shows include The Marriage of Bette and Boo, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Shakespeare in Hollywood, the musical Carrie, Dial M for Murder, and The Sound of Music for December.

Go to their website to purchase tickets and help support the arts while you enjoy the Campus Theatre!
