John Chorba
It’s the people that make this a great place to live, and I ask to continue service to my fellow homeowners.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), 32 years business experience with 3M including global responsibility of government, military and aerospace businesses and over five years as CEO of a non-profit corporation of Christian, state-licensed mental-health professionals. I have served on many boards including chairman, Fire Suppression Systems Association; vice-chair, Halon Alternatives Research Corporation; and director, Woodbury Community Theatre.
I’ve served our community for seven years including nearly two years as HOA Resident Director, four years on the Finance Committee, four years as chairman of the Communications Committee and nearly two years as board member on our ALC. I visited four other Robson communities and met with members of their HOA boards to explore how we can improve our community. I researched and chaired the committee that brought us our Unit Rep program improving community communication. I authored and for six years presented the functions and cost of our HOA to our residents. Other activities include past chairman of our Republican Club and membership in numerous RR clubs including our Music Club and 9MGA. I am a member in Kiwanis, Gideon’s, the American Legion and am a U.S. Army (Vietnam) veteran.
I believe there are three important issues for our board: (1) Financial soundness of our HOA: control costs, budgeting, and financial planning while managing and improving our amenities; (2) Trust: continue improvements in communications, listening and addressing homeowners needs promptly and fairly; (3) Supporting and improving our quality of life and the desirability of living here. The more desirable it is to live here, the greater the value of our lifestyle and property to every existing and prospective homeowner.
