Jennifer Revering
As the holiday season approaches, the Robson Ranch Generation X Group (people born between 1965 and 1980) is spreading the spirit of giving with paws and whiskers in mind. The group is holding their Third Annual Holiday Pet Food Drive to help support area shelters and families struggling to feed their pets during the winter months.
The drive aims to collect donations of dog food, cat food, treats, and in-kennel enrichment items. Contributions will benefit Linda McNatt Animal Care & Adoption Center and the food pantry with DASF (Denton Animal Support Foundation), which has seen a growing need for assistance as more families face economic challenges.
Our pets are part of the family. We want to make sure no animal goes hungry this holiday season and that no family must make the heartbreaking choice between feeding themselves or their pets.
They request Purina One dry food and other items, including dog treats (medium to small sizes-rawhide free); spray cheese; canned chicken, tuna, or salmon; and canned green beans. There is a need for non-food items such as cardboard paper towel and toilet paper rolls (paper removed), Kongs or similar rubber toys, and frisbees.
Donations can be dropped off at Jennifer Revering’s home, 9201 Grandview Drive, and monetary contributions are also accepted. We request all donations be delivered by Dec. 15. Community members are encouraged to get involved by donating, volunteering, or simply spreading the word. Even small contributions, like a single can of pet food, can make a big difference for an animal in need.
This generation grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and heart. We remember what it means to show up for our neighbors, and that includes our four-legged ones.
