Normally, when a club or group at Robson Ranch grows, it does so “organically;” that is, growth comes as one person joins at a time, not by way of a “merger” with another group. The Robson Men’s Bible Study group has always grown one-by-one.
In January, however, an unusual opportunity for growth came about in a different way. A group of men, who call themselves “United Small Group” (USG), asked to join the five existing groups who come together to study and discuss God’s word on Saturday mornings.
Clyde Ziegler started the United Small Group during COVID-19. His goal was to bring together men with similar backgrounds who know about Jesus but have never truly known Him. His small band of brothers held Zoom Bible Study meetings throughout the pandemic.
When the pandemic faded, most groups welcomed the ability to reach out and shake another man’s hand. But the men in USG continued meeting online. They managed to develop close, personal relationships, even when using the internet.
Even now, USG meets virtually three Saturday mornings a month. They come together for an in-person meeting one Saturday a month at Clyde’s house where they enjoy breakfast together before Bible Study begins. (Clyde has been known to serve delicious “Hope” breakfast burritos.) This schedule works well, because a couple of the men live several miles from Robson Ranch.
With the addition of USG, the Robson Men’s Bible Study now has six groups. All groups meet on Saturday mornings at 8 a.m. for about 90 minutes. They are autonomous and non-denominational. The five in-person groups meet at homes throughout Robson Ranch.
We welcome any man who wants to fellowship with other men and learn more about God’s word. For more information, check our website at robsonmensbiblestudy.weebly.com.
