Here in Texas we know a lot about boots…western boots, that is. If you were with the 50 Road Runners who went to Bass Performance Hall on November 1 you now know a lot about “Kinky Boots.” While boarding our motor coach before setting off for Ft. Worth, we noticed several ladies had donned their kinky boots to reflect the spirit of the musical we were to see that day.
We had time to enjoy cocktails and browse around in the fabulous Bass Hall before the show started. The performance was lively, full of great music and dancing and told a wonderful story. We all agreed the hit musical, Kinky Boots, was outstanding! After seeing this show we may think a little differently about our boots in the future.
For dinner after the show our destination was Chef Point Restaurant, affectionately referred to as “5-star food in a gas station.” We overwhelmingly gave it five stars, and yes it is in a gas station in Watauga. Several of our diners said their bread pudding was the best they’ve ever eaten. All of us left with our appetites and taste buds more than satisfied and vowed to return to Chef Point for another meal in the future.
This event, live musical and dinner, was such a hit that the Road Runner Club plans to offer another similar outing. Please watch your emails and go onto the club’s website to see what all is coming up in 2016. Beep Beep!
