President Teresa Blackburn-Korn gave out new pocket calendars so everyone could mark the up-coming events for the new year. First time attendees were welcomed by president-elect Darla Mahan who then asked for their name, rank and serial number, plus where they live and how long they had been residents. We love getting to know all about our new members! Next, the November birthdays were acknowledged while the traditional song played in the background.

Charity News: It was reported that the Holiday Market was successful in raising over $7,200 for two charities: Cumberland Presbyterian Children’s Home and Our Daily Bread. Our November luncheon members and guests also contributed $813 and lots of canned good to the Denton Community Food Center.

Thanks: A special thank you to the Wildhorse Lady Niners Golf Group for our beautiful table decorations. Our greeters for this luncheon were Geraldine Gawle, Sally Ortiz and Megan Wiegard.

Officers: Teresa Blackburn-Korn introduced the slate of officers for the 2016 Robson Ranch Women’s Club. Vice President of Programs, Joyce Frey; Vice President of Membership, Moe Fitzgerald; Treasurer, Carol Cooley; Secretary, Joyce Ambre; Parliamentarian, Consie Javor; Luncheon Coordinator, Joan Krause; President Elect, Sharon Foy; President, Darla Mahan. A motion was made to accept these officers. It was seconded and passed with enthusiasm.

Program: Our surprise guest was Cheryl Allison, daughter of Cynthia and Brian Allison, residents of Robson Ranch. Cheryl is a singer and actress who played in numerous productions on Broadway and is currently living in Dallas starring in many musicals in the area. She brought Judy Garland to life as she sang two of her songs. The first was The Trolley Song from Meet Me in St. Louis and the other was The Man that Got Away from A Star is Born. Ms. Allison is a truly gifted performer with such a glorious voice!

Our main feature was author Randy Schmidt who wrote the book Judy Garland on Judy Garland. Randy informed us that the book contained many interviews and encounters Judy Garland had throughout her career. He said that Judy Garland was always planning on writing her autobiography but never accomplished her goal. In this book we can read about Judy Garland, what she thought of her talents, her struggles, her achievements and her life.
