The Robson Ranch clubhouse ballroom was again alive with 300 enthusiastic Trivia players for the May Trivia Night conducted by the Robson Ranch Trivia Club. It was exciting to witness the fun-loving and competitive atmosphere in the ballroom, with races to turn in answers and celebrations at the tables when the correct answer is given! We awarded nearly $2,000 in prizes to individuals and entire tables. Prizes included gift cards to the Wildhorse Grill and Visa gift cards.
The winning top three teams were as follows: Taking first place was Frosted Flakes with 90 points, and, yes, they brought a big box of Frosted Flakes for good luck, winning a $50 gift card for each member. Trivial Matters landed in second place with 86 points, with each member winning a $25 gift card. The Skull Crushers also scored 86 points but earned third place after two rounds of tiebreaker questions. They received $20 gift cards. Congratulations to all!
Thanks to all the participants, a donation from the evening event was made to the Rainbow Room and the Refuge for Women! Both organizations provide vital services to those in need in difficult situations.
The team names continue to be creative: Jeopardy Rejects, Dazed and Confused, and We Thought This Was Speed Dating!
Here are three trivia questions from the May event. (Answers are listed at the end of this article.)
1. What was the first food eaten in space by John Glenn?
2. What is a group of parrots called, besides a flock or group?
3. Who was the only President to later serve on the Supreme Court?
Our next game night for 2024 will be held on Thursday, Aug. 22. We will announce the ticket sales date through the Robson Ranch HOA Clubs & Activities email, on the HOA Message Board, and on the Facebook and Nextdoor RR-only social media sites. We invite you to join us for a lighthearted evening with neighbors and friends!
The Trivia Club, formed in 2022, continues with new officers for 2024. Volunteers from the Robson Ranch Kiwanis Club will support the Trivia Club to help run the program. Special recognition and thanks to Rance and Marci Malcom who worked to automate the scoring system and slideshow, making the game so much more enjoyable.
We appreciate your support! We carefully review your feedback and constructive comments. We aim to provide a lighthearted evening enjoyed with neighbors and friends.
