The air crackled with anticipation, a carefully orchestrated secret about to unfold. A tight-knit group of conspirators (Carole Springer, Bev Kapp, and Shirley Monge) had planned a surprise 90th birthday party for Carole Johnston!
As Carole arrived, unsuspecting and utterly surprised, a chorus of “Surprise!” erupted, filling the Board Room at the Grill with the joyous energy of the 24 friends, including her son, who were there to celebrate with her. A radiant smile, untouched by the passage of time, spread across her face.
While it’s difficult to capture a lifetime of stories, her character was captured in these words: unwavering optimism, an inspiration to all, ageless beauty, and a zest for life. Carole is one busy woman, participating in so many things: Hand and Foot Card Group, Women’s Club, Singles Club, Wine Club, Hiking Club, kayaking (Denton Senior Community), and occasionally camping with friends!
As Carole blew out the candles on her birthday cake, we were all reminded that age is just a number and that the spirit of adventure can remain vibrant and strong, no matter how many years have passed. Happy Birthday, Carole!
